London Lite, March 2007 Fast talkAn instant interview with... Dominic Monaghan
The 30-year-old actor found big-screen fame as Merry the Hobbit in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, before washing up on Lost as rock star Charlie. He is dating his co-star Evangeline Lilly and lives in Hawaii.
East or west London? East London. It's a lot cooler.
Lager or bitter? Bitter. Preferably a pint of Flowers. You can't get it in Hawaii.
Chips or chocolate? Chocolate. Cadbury Creme Eggs are my favourite.
Eat in or go out? Eat in. I'm making chicken schnitzel, green beans and noodles tonight. I've got Jorge Garcia (Hurley on Lost) and Josh Holloway (Sawyer) coming over to play Risk.
Red carpet or carpet slippers? Red carpet. Even though I'm not crazy about those kinds of dos, I'm deeply offended by slippers, they're for old men.
Football or baseball? Football. Manchester United are more than a football team for me, they're a way of life.
Surf or turf? Surf. It's an amazing feeling to catch a wave. It's like you've harnessing natural energy.
Speedos or board shorts? Board shorts. My dad used to wear Speedos when I was a kid and it was hugely tramatic.
Superman or Batman? Batman. He's darker. Superman is too much the all-American hero and the fact no one recognises Clark Kent is ridiculous.
JRR Tolkien or JK Rowling? Tolkien, no doubt. You're talking about the innovator or the imitator.
