Still mysterious and cagey about what his involvement in the show actually is, Dominic Monaghan gave very few hints about who he will be playing on the ABC television drama Flash Forward. In the short trailer for what will be occurring over the first eight episodes, that executive producer David S. Goyer showed to the press during a recent set visit, there were glimpses into Monaghan's connection to Jack Davenport, who is connected to Sonya Walger, who is connected to Joseph Fiennes. And, although he claims to know some of the reasons behind the black-out that is a mystery to all of the other characters on the show, the actor certainly wasn't giving up any spoilers.

Q: How prominent is your character in this show?

Dominic: He's almost a reveal, in a way. Obviously, Joe [Fiennes] and Sonya [Walger], and John [Cho] and Jack [Davenport] are telling the story in the initial episodes. My character, Simon, is in the wings, waiting. It's more of a reveal. He'll gradually be trickled in, as the show picks up some steam.

Q: We saw some coming attractions, and your character says, "I know what caused the flash-forward." Do you have any idea, as the actor?

Dominic: I tend to approach characters based on, if my character knows it, I would like to know, and if my character doesn't know it, I would not like to know.

Q: So, they've actually told you?

Dominic: Yeah, they've told me things that have happened, and things that I've been responsible for. But, I think I've also been given a few red herrings and led down some dark alleys, so that I don't get too big for my boots.

Q: You didn't seem to know very much about your character at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, or did you?

Dominic: I'd been briefed to keep quiet.

Q: Do you feel the pressure that there's so much buzz about this show, before it even premieres?

Dominic: No, I don't feel pressure. I don't. I never really have. It just doesn't really resonate for me. I don't feel responsible for this show. I think that falls much more on the network, and Steve McPherson and David Goyer, and people like that. But, for me, I don't necessarily feel that way.

Q: Have you gotten to work with everybody in the cast?

Dominic: No. I haven't really worked with that many people at all. I've worked with Jack, but I've worked on my own for the majority of the time. I will be working, at some point in the future, I'm sure, with John, Joe and Sonya.

Q: Joseph said he was a great fan of Lost. Did you know that?

Dominic: Oh, that's cool. Yeah, I did know.

Q: Have you talked to anyone about returning to Lost?

Dominic: Sure, we've talked. Damon and I are friends enough that we just hang out, so people have seen us hanging out a lot of times, recently, and they think, "Why would they be hanging out, other than talking about Lost?" But Damon and I have known each other for 5 years and are friends, and we're into the same kind of stuff. We had breakfast one time, and I think that was the reason why a lot of these Lost rumors started. But, I'm sure they would be keen to bring the character back.

FLASH FORWARD premieres on ABC on September 24th
