Lord of the Rings actor buys his own forest

Lord of the Rings actor Dominic Monaghan has bought his own Indian forest.

Monaghan, who plays hobbit Merry Brandybuck, has bought a small forest in Bangalore.

An avid tree lover, he wanted to play his part to reduce global warming.

Monaghan is one of a growing band of film stars who have gone CarbonNeutral.

He said: "As a person who lives in America, the concept of CarbonNeutral is very important for me.

"The carbon dioxide emissions that I create in my day to day life and their impact on global warming has been offset by the planting of 45 mango trees in Bangalore in India.

"It is up to every individual to take responsibility for their effect on climate change and do something positive about it, such as plant trees with Future Forests!"
