Naughty hobbit a no-show

It's a bad hobbit among movie stars to cancel engagements at the last minute. Just ask Dominic Monaghan.

The Lord Of The Rings star, who was celebrating the Oscar haul last week, was all set to visit Canberra for the Best of Both Worlds sci-fi convention on Friday.

But it seems Monaghan had to pull out at the last minute because of scheduling commitments.

Monaghan's US publicist Jennifer Searle said the actor, who played Merry in the films, had scored a pilot with Disney and needed to be in Hawaii instead of Canberra.
