Today at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, Dominic hosted a presentation ceremony for Fidelity FutureStage, which gifts school music programs with new instruments and gives students the chance to perform with local orchestras. The program was simulcast in halls in Los Angeles, Boston, Huston and Chicago where groups from local schools gathered to watch, perform and receive their instruments.
Most of the coverage is focused on Jamie Foxx; however, the Los Angeles Times article (which explains the event and which is now in the article archive) did get a nice quote from Dom:
"I’m a big fan of youngsters," Monaghan said backstage. "I like the innocence. The inspirational kind of attitude they take .. they’re not jaded. They’re not wounded by the world enough yet. And I’m also an artist. I grew up feeling incredibly artistic at the age of 7, 8, 9 years old, trying to find places to belong, and it wasn’t hugely easy for me ... I like that we can show these people that we accept them and they have a place where they can be."
Photos, many of Dom, have turned up at A P Images.
