Dom has issued a statement concerning comments he made about an IRA bombing of Manchester's city center on the Petros & Money radio show:

As a fiercely proud Mancunian, I regret the confusion surrounding the comments I made about the bombing of the Manchester city centre. I did not mean to play down or make light of the enormity of the tragedy that took place. [Source]

Manchester politicians Tony Stark (MP, Central Manchester) and Pat Karney (Manchester city council) made statements about Dom's comments which were covered by the Telegraph UK and Manchester Evening News. Comments at the Manchester Evening News suggest most Mancunians understood Dom's point and agreed with him, however.
