On the fourteenth (as you know if you've been watching the Twitter), Dominic Monaghan and Sean Astin attended a Golden Globes gift lounge sponsored by Access Hollywood. You can find photos here and here (with some duplicates). And at this NY Post blog, Dom is recognized for posing with merchandise.

Dom also gave an interview to AH, as did Sean Astin. As usual with AH videos, it will take a lot of luck to get it to play. It should be easier to play in a week or two and viewers in the US will most likely be able to watch it on the AH Hulu page.

For those of you who can't get it to play, eventually there will be a transcript. Meanwhile, here are just some of the things Dom discusses:

• The Hobbit, which he believes Merry will not appear in ("I don’t think I’m going to do it because I’m not alive..."), although he may go down with Elijah for the filming.
• His trip to Ireland. He was with Elijah in Ireland when Elijah was given the news about The Hobbit.
• Nail polish. He believes his nails are yellow because he uses nail polish too much without giving his nails time to breath.
• He congratulates AH interviewer Laura Saltman on her pregnancy.
• Contributing to future actors through a charity aspect of the event. The how the event aids charities and the charity itself was not discussed by Dom (although Sean reflects on the nature of the event).

An AH press release names two charities as the beneficiaries of the event. Dom is probably referring to the Lollipop Theater Network, which screens movies currently in theatrical release to children hospitalized due to life-threatening illnesses. Contributions are made by participating companies "on behalf of the celebrities," who apparently contribute by posing with merchandise.
