The Hobbit

ThinkMcflyThink is reporting that Dom actually will appear in The Hobbit, along with Elijah Wood:

ThinkMcflyThink has received word of another Lord of the Rings alum joining the cast: Dominic Monaghan. No word on how big or, most likely, small his appearance will be or if we can also expect to see Sean Astin or Billy Boyd as well. [...] Production is slated to begin on March 21^st.

From the wording, it seems to be based on a new hint, rather than a recycled assumption. We'll see, right?

The Day

Cory Hardrick, Dominic's co-star in The Day, has this to say about the plot in a recent interview:

I can’t say too much about The Day because we really want to keep it under wraps, but what I can say is that it’s an apocalyptic war movie unlike anything you’ve seen before. The closest comparison I can come up with is Book of Eli meets The Road. I can’t say too much else because that ruins the experience, but I do think fans will be blown away once it’s released and they get to see it for themselves.
